My nearby restaurants are missing

Open iOS Settings, find Big Beautiful Restaurant Log, and allow Location access “While Using the App.” You can always search by name or use the manual-place option without location access.

Photos do not appear in Backfill

The standard photo picker works without full-library permission. The optional date-range scanner needs Photos read access. Review Big Beautiful Restaurant Log’s Photos permission in iOS Settings and choose the date range again.

For Beli imports, choose the complete ZIP supplied by Beli rather than an individual CSV. The review screen uses Apple Maps to resolve restaurant locations. An internet connection is needed for Maps matching and for photos referenced by the export; importing the same ZIP again safely retries missing photos.

To remove a Beli import, open Settings and find Imported Data. Deleting an import removes the outings, photos, dishes, and ranking seeds it created while preserving restaurants and outings that existed before the import. An import-created restaurant is also preserved if it has since gained unrelated activity.

My shared circle is not syncing

Open Your Circle and confirm that the app says you are signed in, syncing is on for this circle, and both iPhones have a network connection. Choose Sync Now on each phone. An invitation is single-use and is tied to the selected circle member; if it expired or was sent to the wrong person, the owner should create a new one. Never post an invitation link in a public support request because it contains the circle key.

A restaurant appears twice

Open More, choose Merge Duplicate Locations, select the duplicate and the record you want to keep, then review the merge before confirming.

I need to correct or remove a meal

Open History, select the outing, and use the outing-detail controls. Deleting an outing removes its attached diner entries, dish entries, and app-managed photo copies. If it is the restaurant’s last outing, you can keep the empty restaurant or remove it and its comparison history as well. You can also remove a previously emptied restaurant from the menu on its restaurant-detail screen.

Privacy choices

The app works without an account. If you enable circle syncing, its privacy controls are available inside the app:

  1. Manage Location and Photos permissions in iOS Settings for Big Beautiful Restaurant Log.
  2. Delete an individual outing from its detail screen, and remove a restaurant with no outings from its restaurant-detail screen.
  3. Open Your Circle to sync now, turn syncing off on this iPhone, sign out, remove a member, leave a circle, or have the owner permanently delete that circle’s service copy.
  4. Open Settings to delete the sync account and all service data it owns. Local dining logs are preserved unless you separately choose Reset App.
  5. Export a full backup before deleting anything you may want later.

Compatibility

Big Beautiful Restaurant Log supports iPhone running iOS 17 or later. It is not distributed as an iPad, Mac Catalyst, or “Designed for iPhone on Mac” app.
